Highschool Classes

In high school, you have 2 semesters which each contain 4 classes. The first semester is from September – January. The second semester is from February – June. Each class only lasts one semester so once the second semester begins; you will have 4 completely new classes. By the end of the year, you will have completed 8 different classes.

You also write final exams in high school for each of your classes. Which is a larger test that contains all the info you learned throughout the entire semester.

We have an exam week in January for your four semester 1 classes and in June for your four semester 2 classes. Each exam is on a different day, so you have time to prepare and study for each one.

In high school, classes are a bit longer then they are in elementary school. They are about 75 minutes in length.

You go to 2 classes, have a 40 min lunch break, go to another 2 classes, and then the day is over.

In high school, you will have a different teacher for all of your classes throughout the year. So instead of having 1 teacher the entire year, you will have 8. Each class is also in different rooms, you have about 5 minutes in-between classes to get to your next class in a different room.

It’s very important to pay attention and take notes in your classes. Completing all the homework and assignments is a great way to be very successful in your classes.

Below is an example of what your timetable will look like for your entire grade 9 year. These won’t be your exact classes but this is a setup of what your schedule will look like.
