2021 Feature Stories
Grand Erie District School Board is pleased to announce Jennifer Tozer has been named Superintendent of Education, overseeing the Human Resources portfolio. Ms. Tozer joined the board earlier this year as its new Human Resources Manager.
Grand Erie District School Board Trustees approved the operating and capital budgets for the 2021-22 school year during a Board Meeting Monday night.
As mentioned earlier in the year, Grand Erie will close the Grades K-12 Virtual Learning Academy at the end of June 2021 as the board looks forward to in-person learning with an additional online option as directed by the Ministry of Education.
As the school year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on how proud I am of each and every one of you. This year has been a journey like no other, and I commend you for battling through the challenges and changes to make the best of these unprecedented times in our school communities.
Today, our hearts are with Indigenous communities across Turtle Island with the tragic discovery of 751 unmarked graves on the site of a former residential school in Saskatchewan.
As we wrap up a school year that has been like no other, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and celebrate all the students in Grand Erie’s 2021 graduating class.
Grand Erie District School Board is wishing a warm farewell to Scott Sincerbox, Superintendent of Education, as he readies for retirement later this month and concludes an illustrious career in education.
Secondary students at Grand Erie District School Board will return to school to a quadmester learning model in September 2021. The revised model will allow students to attend classes in person every day for the 2021-22 academic year.
Nicole McSwain of Paris District High School (PDHS) is this year’s recipient of the James Hillier Foundation scholarship. The scholarship is awarded annually to exceptional graduating students.
After decades of leadership in educational roles, Denise Martins, Superintendent of Education for Grand Erie District School Board, is retiring.
