A Message to The Muslim Association of Brantford
Dear Members of The Muslim Association of Brantford,
On behalf of the Grand Erie District School Board, we want to offer our deepest and heartfelt sympathies to you, your families, friends and broader Muslim community and everyone who has been impacted by the senseless act of violence in London that took the lives of four innocent people. This tragedy is a cruel reminder that racism exists here in Canada and in our communities.
We stand in solidarity with you and grieve with you. Hate has no place in our school system here in Grand Erie, or in our community.
Our partnership with you is invaluable and we have deep respect for you and the ongoing work of the Brantford Muslim Association toward more peaceful and equitable communities. We remain committed to eliminating racism and Islamophobia through education, and creating school environments that are safe and inclusive, and where all students feel they belong and are valued.
