Brantford, Ont. – Grand Erie Board of Trustees elected Susan Gibson as the 2022 Chair of Grand Erie District School Board during the annual Board Nomination and Organization meeting held on Monday, December 6. Gibson, who represents the City of Brantford, previously held the position of Vice-Chair. Greg Anderson is the outgoing Chair.
Brian Doyle, who represents the County of Haldimand, was elected to the position of Vice-Chair for the coming year.
"It's an honour to have the support of my fellow Trustees as we work to prioritize the goals of Grand Erie's multi-year strategic plan and serve the students and families of this district," said Gibson. "We've accomplished much together, and I look forward to working collaboratively to foster a culture of learning, well-being and belonging to inspire each learner."
Gibson was first elected to the board in 2018. She has a more than two-decade career in health care, advocating for patients and their families. She has transferred that passion for helping others to her role as Trustee in public education, collaborating and problem-solving to support student success.

Grand Erie District School Board represents more than 25,000 students in 58 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools within the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand, and Norfolk as well as students from Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. With a dedicated staff of more than 2,500, Grand Erie is committed to learning, leading and inspiring.
Grand Erie District School Board's inaugural meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 13, 2021 at 7:15 p.m.
