Welcome, Class of 2035! Online Registration Now Open for Kindergarten this Fall
Grand Erie District School Board is ready to welcome a new class of young learners this fall, with online registration now open. Parents of children who will be four years old by the end of 2021 will need to take note of deadlines and required information to ensure a seamless start to their child’s schooling in September.
“Kindergarten lays the foundation for future literacy and numeracy skills, and provides an engaging environment where children learn and cooperate together,” said JoAnna Roberto, Director of Education. “Kindergarten classrooms across Grand Erie are vibrant, inclusive spaces that foster children’s creativity and problem-solving abilities, with educators dedicated to helping students develop a strong sense of themselves in the world.”
Parents of soon-to-be Kindergarten students can visit Grand Erie’s website (granderie.ca) and click on the Kindergarten Registration banner or click here for more details about the process. This includes finding their child’s home school, which documents are required for registration, transportation information, community resources, and before-and-after-school programs.
Parents interested in Grand Erie’s French Immersion program have until Friday, February 5 to apply to be eligible for a spot through a randomized selection process. New students who currently have a sibling in the program are guaranteed a spot, however, registration is still required.
Due to COVID-19 public health restrictions, the registration process will be completed online this year, and parents/guardians are asked not to visit schools in person at this time.
Grand Erie District School Board represents nearly 18,000 students in 58 elementary schools and more than 7,500 students in 14 secondary schools within the city of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand, and Norfolk as well as students from Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
