Pride Flag Will Fly in Solidarity with University of Waterloo After Attack

e are saddened by the act of hate that happened at the University of Waterloo on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Our thoughts go to the victims of this homophobic and transphobic attack, to the entire 2SLGBTQ+ community, and to those who are impacted by this event.
In solidarity with the University of Waterloo and the 2SLGBTQ+ community, Grand Erie District School Board will fly the Progressive Pride Flag at the Education Centre for an additional week, until July 10.
To Grand Erie students, staff and community members, we remain committed to naming and addressing any and all forms of racism, discrimination, and acts of hatred and violence.
Grand Erie will continue to ensure that our learning and working environments are inclusive and safe, identity-affirming and centering 2SLGBTQ+ histories and contributions.
