For Pink Shirt Day this year, six-year-old Marisa, a student in grade 1 at J.L. Mitchener Public School in Cayuga, decided to use her creative talents to help stamp out bullying.

The Grand Erie Parent Involvement Committee (GEPIC) is thrilled to bring back cyber safety expert Paul Davis for a virtual event aimed at empowering parents and guardians in the digital age. Davis will share his knowledge on topics such as online security, cyberbullying, texting, image sharing, digital trails, and social platforms including TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook, with key information and safety advice to help parents help their children and youth navigate the online space.

In consultation with local public health units, Grand Erie District School Board is relaxing some of the restrictions put in place on sports and extracurricular activities as students returned to in-person learning earlier in January.

Grand Erie secondary schools are introducing Student Learning Support Days in second semester, providing additional opportunities for students requiring further consolidation of learning to take part in order to meet their achievement goals. 

Grand Erie schools are prepared for a return to in-person learning, following new provincial guidance and putting processes in place to support health, safety and learning.

Grand Erie is inviting applications from the community for a new Equity Advisory Group to help the board reduce barriers and support inclusivity.

Elementary schools across Grand Erie are ready to welcome the newest class of young learners next September, with Kindergarten registration now open.
