Parents And Guardians, We Need You!
Our School Council plays a vital role in decision-making as well as establishing and building home-school partnerships at Paris Central. Meetings are held at least 4 times through the school year. The dates for this year's meetings are listed below. We discuss items such as school climate, school policies, student achievement, fundraising, school events and other important issues pertaining to student life at Paris Central. Meetings are currently held virtually on Teams, and last about one hour.

We encourage parents/guardians of the students of Paris Central to become involved your School Council.
All meetings take place at the school library from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The first confirmed meeting date, and the tentative meeting dates for the following months of the school year are as follows:

- January 23, 2024
- March 26, 2024

Volunteering at Paris Central Public School
We welcome volunteers into our school.
NEW: If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please download, print and complete the form Volunteer Profile and Code of Confidentiality or come in and request this form at the office. The completed form should be submitted to the office and it will be kept on file.
There are a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available at Paris Central.
You can:
- help in the classroom
- help with a club
- drive or help out with field trips and sports activities
- help with school events
- assist with coaching a sport
- participate in fundraising
- help with the Health Snack program
- help with literacy programs, including Strong Start®
Healthy Snack Program - We Need Your Help
Our school council members, Jamie Minns and Nicki Gilman will be running a healthy snack program that gives all students access to nutritious snacks a few times a week. This program is able to run thanks to the generous support of Brant Food for Thought and volunteers from the community.

Police Checks
Grand Erie District School Board policy requires a current police check (within the past 6 months) for every volunteer. The police check must be updated every two years. If you do not have a recent police check, please pick up a letter from the school office to hand over to the OPP office. You do not need to pay to have your police check done.
Volunteers who drive students for out of school experiences, in addition to having a current police check on file at the school, must also complete a form at the office to confirm a minimum of $2 million liability insurance coverage.
Signing In
It is important for the safety of our children that we know who is in the building at all times. All visitors must check in at the office each time they arrive and when they leave. Volunteers are visitors in the school. You will be provided with a lanyard identifying you as a volunteer to wear while you are in the building. Before you leave the school, you sign out and hand in your lanyard.
Parents who volunteer to escort a group for out of school experiences are accepting responsibility to model and support postive behaviour so that children can learn. In order to not detract from student learning, we are not able to have volunteers bring siblings along. Staff will select volunteers and match parents to groups.
