Daily Announcements - March 21st

Student Council is giving away donuts and cookies at lunch for kids with student cards.

Attention all track and field athletes:  Practices will run on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.  Please meet at the double gym for Mondays practice to help set up the high jump mats.

Today is the day!  Come support PDHS drama club presents “The Astonishing and Dangerous History of Mazefield the Frog” during period 2.  The cost is $5.00 a student and available on school cash online and at the door with cash.  Students will be called down from the period 2 classes at 10:45am.

Any students interested in playing / learning ultimate frisbee are invited to come out at lunch every Friday to the big gym.  No experience needed, just a positive attitude, running shoes and a water bottle.  Everyone is welcome!

Hello Paris Grads! You will be receiving a grad survey for the yearbook from your homeroom teacher. Extra surveys can be found in the learning commons. Please print neatly and provide your full name and a quote or future plans to be included in the grad section of the yearbook. You can submit your completed form in the learning commons or in an email to pdhsyearbook@granderie.ca. The Yearbook Committee kindly asks you to complete the surveys by the end of March!  In addition, those graduates interested in being included in the “Now and Then” section of the yearbook can submit a baby photo and a current photo to pdhsyearbook@granderie.caReminder to all students that yearbooks need to be purchased from the Jostens website by April 16th!

If there are any girls still interested in playing girls soccer this year, please see Mr. Richardson in the tech office to grab a form.

The school dodgeball tournament that was meant to be this Friday has been moved to March 28, next Friday.  The $5.00 sign ups are extended until March 25, after that, the cost goes up to $10.00 per person.  Sign up is in the main office.

Grand Erie’s most fabulous event of the year is almost here! The Rainbow Ball is a board-wide event held annually at one of our Grand Erie high schools. This year, Pauline Johnson is hosting on May 7 from 6:30 until 9:30. Bussing from PDHS and back will be provided. Tickets are $12 and will be on sale soon.  If you plan to attend the Rainbow Ball this year and will need transportation, please sign-up at the circulation desk in the library learning commons this week. You must sign up before this Friday to access transportation to and from PDHS.

Attention staff and students, the next intramural sport is handball and it begins next Wednesday and Thursday at lunch.  Sign ups are outside the boys and girls pe offices.  We need a minimum of 6 teams to run!  Sign up with your friends or as an individual.

Any boys interested in playing soccer are to pick up a permission form from the boys PE office before the first tryout this Friday in the big gym after school.

As you may know, Student Council is selling SPC cards.  An SPC card is a discount card that will save you money on a variety of different stores.  You can buy one on School Cash Online for $10.00.

The PDHS Homework Help program runs every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 to 4:30 in the library learning commons. You can access help with math on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with Ms. Chapman or help with English on Thursday with Ms. Edwards. You are welcome to use the space for homework and quiet study on any of these days.  

No cafeteria food?  No problem!  Pizza and pop will be available to purchase every Friday in the library foyer during lunch.  $2.00 per slice and $1.00 for pop.  Cash only.
