Facility Renewal
Grand Erie District School Board’s Facility Renewal Program is helping to make our schools better. Revitalizing, rebuilding, renewing, and maintaining our facilities to provide an inviting, environmentally responsible physical space for the Grand Erie community.
In 2022-2023, projects will total $25,765,602 funded through Facility Renewal and School Condition Improvement grants and Community Hubs allocation. Within this funding, projects include Pride of Place, Community Partnership Incentive Program, School/Program Improvement Fund and Capital and Renewal Projects.

Pride of Place
These allocations address facility features that contribute to a more welcoming environment for staff, students and the school community. The Pride of Place program focuses on physical school environment issues such as upgrades to flooring, painting, lockers, signage, landscaping, etc. Projects for 2019-20 have been prioritized and reviewed by facilities staff as set out in Policy FT 13 Pride of Place and Community Partnership Incentive Programs.

Community Partnership Incentive Plan (CPIP)
The 2022-23 Community Partnership Incentive Plan applications were distributed to Grand Erie schools. This is the 19th consecutive year for this program and the Board has allocated $200,000 from the School Renewal Allocation to match funding raised by schools up to $10,000 for projects submitted and approved.
School Modernization Program
The School Modernization Program proposed allocation for 2022-23 is $1,500,000. Facility Services is implementing a different approach to renewing and refreshing our buildings. A small committee has been established and standards will be developed for the following components:
School Program Improvement Fund
Funding in the amount of $1,500,000 has been allocated to support School/Program Improvement Fund: Learning Commons.
Learning Commons: convert the libraries into Learning Commons, 8 elementary and 2 secondary conversions are planned for the 2022-2023 school year.
