2021 Feature Stories
Each year, staff and students at Grand Erie join millions of people from across the country as we raise awareness and encourage dialogue surrounding mental health. Mental Health Week (May 3 to 7) is an additional opportunity for us to remind ourselves that in times when we’re feeling anxious or stressed, our mental health is a priority.
The Grand Erie District School Board is pleased to announce that the construction of new child care spaces at Central Public School in Brantford is now completed and now officially open to families as of April 26, 2021. Through a partnership between the City of Brantford and the Board, the addition will add four new child care rooms and 64 new child care spaces to Central Public School in Brantford.
Grand Erie District School Board is pleased to share news that the Brant County Health Unit, based on the Ministry of Health guidelines, will expand access to the COVID-19 vaccine for additional Grand Erie staff beginning on April 26.

Today, April 15, the Brant County Health Unit declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Lansdowne-Costain Public School in Brantford. As outlined in the Ministry of Education’s Operational Guidance, an outbreak is defined as two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in students and/or staff in a school with an epidemiological link, within a 14-day period, where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection in the school.
