The former Ryerson Heights Elementary School is now officially Edith Monture Elementary School, and an event yesterday at the school celebrated that change with students, staff, the Board of Trustees, community members, the Monture family, Brantford-Brant MPP Will Bouma, and guests, marking too the significance to reconciliation efforts during Truth and Reconciliation Week.
This summer, Grand Erie saw a number of school improvements valued at over $15 million. No Grand Erie school went unmodified, each project targeting safety and convenience with students and staff in mind as they head back to class on September 6.
