Grand Erie Reaches Agreements with Two ETFO Local Unions

rand Erie District School Board is pleased to announce that it has reached agreements with two local ETFO labour unions, concluding all of Grand Erie’s educator union agreements. These agreements were ratified by the Board on February 26, 2024, and the term of the agreements span 2022 through to 2026.

  • ETFO – Occasional Teachers (ratified by the union March 5, representing 445 staff)
  • ETFO – Grand Erie Elementary Teachers (ratified by the union March 7, representing more than 1170 staff)

Grand Erie recently announced it had reached agreements with three local OSSTF unions.

"The spirit of partnership continued in negotiations with ETFO educators, and we have concluded agreements that are in the best interest of all parties and students,” said Susan Gibson, Chair of the Grand Erie District School Board. “With agreements reached with OSSTF and ETFO staff, we can work together to build a culture of learning, well-being and belonging.”

“We are grateful to have successfully concluded these negotiations to support partnership with educators in supporting students and staff,” said JoAnna Roberto, Director of Education at Grand Erie. “Our thanks to the bargaining teams for their hard work and collaboration in achieving this milestone.”

Grand Erie District School Board represents more than 27,000 students in 58 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools within the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk as well as students from Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
