BAND & MUSIC

Our music department is a longstanding favourite here at WDHS. Students in music courses will learn a beginning band instrument. Each course will also include an introduction to the guitar.

Our music classes encourage students to participate in band, choir, or our yearly musical production! Each year, the band and choir head out to many different schools to demonstrate their skills and go on some awesome field trips.

DRAMA

It's a great class to develop skills for life!

Students will get involved in making original productions for Remembrance Day and a full school dramatic performance in the Spring. At the NTS competition in 2023, the original script, Dear High School, won many awards locally and provincially!

They will explore their creative abilities in a full range of experiences, including mask-making, costume and prop design. 

Trips may include a Stratford play or Toronto!

VISUAL ARTS

& MEDIA DESIGN

The Arts offer many opportunities for students. WDHS offers a variety of art classes that teach illustration, digital media, photography, and portfolio work.

Experiences may include graphic design projects for our school and community, like the Legion, & Yearbook. We do well at various competitions with Fair, the board, and the provincial level. We have even placed first in a National and top 20 in a youth international photography contest!

Annual trips will take us on some exciting adventures like New York!
