Student Council

This group of students works together to organize, advertise, and implement various activities throughout the school year.
Student Council consists elected positions on the executive, grade representatives, and auxiliary members that all work together to promote school spirit and inclusiveness
Pride of the Pack
Adviser: Mr. Mayo/Ms. Neilson
Meetings:
Pride of the Pack is a club that promotes difference, diversity, and acceptance throughout the school. Their focus is to educate fellow students on issues facing students at the school ranging from mental health, sexuality, mobility, and beyond. They attend the yearly Dignity Day symposium put on by the Board and work with other schools to make Grand Erie the best place to learn and grow.
Link Crew
Advisers: Ms. Swierniak
Meetings: as needed throughout the year
Open to Grade 11 and 12 students. Members will receive leadership training which allows them to work with our Grade 9s as they adjust to life at high school. Starting in May, students may apply to become leaders and they will receive the training during the second last week in August. On our Registration Day in late August, Link Leaders will facilitate a number of activities with our Grade 9s, including some icebreaker games and a school tour. During the school year, leaders continue to work with their Grade 9 crews, helping them to prepare for exams and offering support and guidance as needed. Becoming a Link Leader is a great way for students to make a difference in the school community and learn some valuable transferable skills applicable to many work environments.
Anime Club
Adviser: Mr. Mayo
Meetings:
Anime club is a place where students get together, once a week at lunch, and watch a variety of Anime series or movies, talk about manga, games, and all sorts amazing things. They normally team up with other schools and take a yearly trip to a convention or comicon. The goal is to have fun and enjoy everything the genre has to offer.

Meetings:
A club dedicated to capturing pictures and stories from all the various clubs, events, and student faces from around the school during the school year.
Photographers, copy writers and layout designers are always welcome to join!
Eco Club
Advisers: Mr. Soppit
Meetings: first Friday of the month at lunch in room 115
Eco Club focuses on education and implementation of different initiatives throughout the school year to reduce the carbon footprint of WDHS. Activities include an Eco-Week in February and a school wide community clean up on Earth Day in April.
School Play

Ed Tech and Robotics Club
Advisor: Mr. Dumoulin/Mr. Slaman
The WDHS Ed Tech and Robotics Club is for students who like working with the newest, coolest STEM learning resources like VEX Robotics, Micro:bits, 3D printers, Cricut design, and laser cutters. We’re also aiming to compete in the Skills Ontario VEX Robotics Competition. Sometimes we event help support staff and students with using things like the Office 365, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), classroom projectors, 3D printers and anything else to do with technology use at school.

Indigenous Student Council

A inclusive group that gathers to learn and explore Indigenous culture, history and heritage. All students are welcome to join.

White Pine Book Club
Adviser: Ms. Fess
This is a book club who reads from the designated Canada Reads White Pine books.
We meet in the Learning Commons every other Friday to read and discuss the books.
Chess Club

The Chess club participates in tournaments and meets throughout the year.
