Today (October 2) is National Custodian Day, a day in which we recognize and show appreciation to our custodians, head custodians, caretakers and casual cleaners who work tirelessly each day to ensure our schools and administration buildings are clean and healthy places to learn and work.
These hard-working men and women not only keep our sites clean and safe, but enrich their schools and workplaces with their dedication, enthusiasm and sense of pride.
Since March Break, when the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the closure of schools across the province, our custodians and caretakers have put in great efforts to clean, disinfect, and prepare our schools for re-opening.
As schools re-opened, their work expanded to include more frequent cleaning and disinfecting to keep our staff and students safe and continue to make our spaces feel welcoming.
On National Custodial Workers’ Recognition Day, please extend a sincere thank you to our dedicated custodians and caretakers for their incredible service.
